5. Plaintiff
Don't know what her name was
Not that I recall
Can't say much about her
Except she was a doll
Today I got the letter
Explained it to a "T"
Seems her name is Plaintiff
And she hates me
Took a trip out to Vegas
But it's all a blur
When I came to my senses
I was holding her
My friends all left me
Down on bended knee
Not sure what I promised
'Cause she never did leave
She asked lots of questions
Mostly 'bout my past
What I did for a livin'
How I paid for gas
When she found out
It wasn't like I said
She quit talkin' to me
And hired a lawyer instead
Don't know what her name was
Not that I recall
Can't say much about her
Except she was a doll
Today I got a letter
Explained it to a "T"
Seems her name is Plaintiff
And she hates me
If you find yourself
With one like her
She can't take a joke
She wants to see you burn
Well take my advice
And protect yourself
If her name is Plaintiff
You better run like hell
Don't know what her name was
Not that I recall
Can't say much about her
Except she was a doll
Today I got a letter
Explained it to a "T"
Seems her name is Plaintiff
And she hates me
Oh yeah
Seems her name is Plaintiff
And she hates me
Seems her name is Plaintiff
And she hates me
Yes she does.
Andrew Thomas Walton was born and raised in the Metroplex of Dallas, Texas. He began his musical career as a drummer and even hit the road full time at the ripe old age of 16. However, as Andrew puts it, he picked up the guitar "...because you can't serenade girls on a drum set." He formed several bands with his brother and played popular nightspots as well as college venues throughout Texas. However, as most bands do, the individual members moved on to pursue other interests. So, after college, Andrew served in various capacities as an officer in the US Army. During this time he occasionally applied his talents to bolster the morale of soldiers serving in exotic locales. In 2013, Andrew returned to the Dallas area, and was invited to apply his talents on Vocals, Lead Guitar, Banjo, Dobro and Lap Steel in support of several local artists. In late 2015, Andrew released his first full length CD entitled “Love and Litigation”. Andrew wrote, sang and played all instruments and in May 2016, “Love and Litigation” was named an Executive Selection for Best Country / Rock Album by the Akademia Music Awards. 8. I Know Crazy (when I see it)
When the hair on the back of my neck stood up
I knew you were around
And the voices inside my head chimed in
Said "son you better leave now"
Then you walked up to me
And kissed my lips
I knew I'd seen this before
And I'm not hanging around for more
I know crazy when I see it
I see that look in your eyes again
I know crazy when I see it
Your disguise is way too thin
I've seen it all before
And I know what's in store
And I'm not playing your crazy game no more
Would crazy by another name
Still taste as sweet
I want you now
Like ever before
But I won't have a seat
At the table you set to lure me in
To try to bring me down
'Cause I won't be coming back around
I know crazy when I see it
I see that look in your eyes again
I know crazy when I see it
Your disguise is way too thin
I've seen it all before
And I know what's in store
And I'm not playing your crazy game no more
I know crazy
I know crazy
Those things you say
Those things you do
To get inside my head
When it all comes together
But it doesn't add up
Time to run from you I said
I know crazy when I see it
I see that look in your eyes again
I know crazy when I see it
Your disguise is way too thin
I 've seen it all before
And I know what's in store
And I'm not playing your crazy game no more
No oooo
I'm not playing your crazy game no more
No no no
I'm not playing your crazy game no more
I know crazy
I know crazy
9. Some Memories
I came back one more time
To take another look around
The memories here are tattooed on my mind
This old town feels like sacred ground
I remember we'd sneak out after dark
And we'd meet up down at that park
We smoked your mom's cigarettes
And drank his dad's beer
After all this time it seems so crystal clear
Funny how some memories
Stay all too clear
I drove his sister down where the blacktop ends
And if he knew
I doubt we'd still be friends
She took me where I'd never been before
And I knew I couldn't go back for more
Funny how some memories
Can leave you wanting more
Nobody knows
Because nobody told
And I ain't namin' names
We all got bruised
Some still have scars
It wasn't all fun and games
Seems to me some memories
Still hurt you just the same
They say the guilty go back to the crime
If that's true
I'd go back in time
I wouldn't make the same mistake twice
Losin' her was way too high a price
Funny how some memories
Come with way too high a price
And nobody knows
'cause nobody saw
And I ain't namin' names
We all got bruised
Some still have scars
It wasn't all fun and games
Seems to me some memories
Still hurt you just the same
I came back one more time
To take one last look around
6. Four Wheelin' (in 2 wheel drive)
Together as one when we left that church
The honeymoon ended we started to search
For those things that show who we are
Pullin' apart we didn't get far
And I know I was too blind to see
Go ahead put the blame on me
And we were four wheelin' in two wheel drive
Spinnin' our wheels on our downhill slide
Couldn't get no traction
Wouldn't swallow that pride
We were four wheelin' in two wheel drive
She had plans but I had schemes
We just couldn't sync up our dreams
So she went her way and I went mine
She found a calling
I died on the vine
There I sat with my head in my hands
Watchin' that hourglass drainin' sand
And we were four wheelin' in two wheel drive
Spinnin' our wheels on our downhill slide
Couldn't get no traction
Wouldn't swallow that pride
We were four wheelin' in two wheel drive
Yes we were four wheelin' in two wheel drive
I was lookin' in that rear view mirror
To see what went wrong
That's when I realized it was me all along
We crossed paths a couple years ago
Success had found her but love not so
Just as pretty as the day we wed
As she got up to leave this is what she said
You know we may have done it all wrong
But the story of us would make a great country song
'Cause we were four wheelin' in two wheel drive
Spinnin' our wheels on our downhill slide
Couldn't get no traction
Wouldn't swallow that pride
We were four wheelin' in two wheel drive
Yes we were
Four wheelin' in two wheel drive
Spinnin' our wheels on our downhill slide
Couldn't get no traction
Wouldn't swallow that pride
We were four wheelin' in two wheel drive
Yes we were
Four wheelin' in two wheel drive
Four wheelin' in two wheel drive
1. The Red Light
No one will ever know just what you've done to me
No one will ever see just how you treated me
You left me all alone
You crushed my dreams, took all I own
No one will see what you've done
When the red light comes on
When the red light comes on, I play my part
When the red light comes on, makeup hides my scars
I know all my lines
I've rehearsed 'em so many times
They'll all think I'm fine
When the red light comes on
My friends won't know it's all an act
They won't ever guess that you're not coming back
Then comes act two
And I'll go on without you
I won't miss my cues when the red light comes on
When the red light comes on, I play my part
When the red light comes on, makeup hides my scars
I know all my lines
I've rehearsed 'em so many times
They'll all think I'm fine
When the red light comes on
No one will ever know how hard this is
No one will ever guess my heart's in pieces
When the red light comes on, I play my part
When the red light comes on, makeup hides my scars
I know all my lines
I've rehearsed 'em so many times
They'll all think I'm fine
When that red light comes on, I'll play my part
When the red light comes on, makeup hides my scars
I know all my lines
I've rehearsed 'em so many times
You'll all think I'm fine
When the red light comes on
3. Un-Merry Go Round
She's drinking again
Her lipstick's on the bottle
Was it something I did
Or something I oughta
With her it seems
That I can never tell
What I 'm supposed to do
I think it's time to bid her farewell
So I'm getting off this un-merry go round
I'm sick and I'm tired
Of going round and round and round
If I don't get off
I'll be six feet in the ground
And I've had enough of this un-merry go round
She says I'm to blame
When things don't work out right
And that's how she starts
Each and every fight
She opens old wounds
And fills 'em up with salt
She'd have you believe
That somehow it's all my fault
So I'm getting off this un-merry go round
I'm sick and I'm tired
Of going round and round and round
If I don't get off
I'll be six feet in the ground
And I've had enough of this un-merry go round
She's leavin' again
She's got her bags by the front door
Won't stand in her way
Like I did those times before
I'm lettin' her go
It's time to man up and that's a fact
I found some lost pride
And I'm not gonna take her back
Cuz I'm getting off this un-merry go round
I'm sick and I'm tired
Of going round and round and round
If I don't get off
I'll be six feet in the ground
And I've had enough of this un-merry go round
I've had enough of this un-merry go round
Yeah I just got off of this
Un-merry go round
4. Love Hurts
Love hurts
Love scars
Love wounds
And mars
Any heart
Not tough
Or strong enough
To take a lot of pain
Take a lot of pain
Love is like a cloud
Holds a lot of rain
Love hurts
Ooooo love hurts
I'm young
I know
But even so
I know a thing
Or two
I've learned
From you
I've really learned a lot
Really learned a lot
Love is like a stove
It burns you when it's hot
Love hurts
Ooooo love hurts
Some fools think of happiness
Blissfulness
Togetherness
Some fools fool themselves I guess
They're not fooling me
I know it isn't true
I know it isn't true
Love is just a lie
Made to make you blue
Love hurts
Oooo love hurts
Love hurts
Oooo love hurts
Oh oh love hurts
10. Always a Marine
He left home at seventeen
With not a lot to lose
Wound up in San Diego
With a whole lot to prove
The pride and traditions
He had never seen before
He was just a kid from Texas
Who signed up for the Corps
When the country needed volunteers
He had no reservations
And even though he left school
That never stopped his education
So the words to the Marine's Hymn
Became his alma mater
And the tattoo on his forearm read
"Death before dishonor"
Though I never wore that uniform
There's somethin' about that green
Can't be called a leatherneck
But I know what that means
Things he learned from the Corps
He passed 'em down to me
Semper Fi, do or die
My old man was always a Marine
They taught him how to be a man
And to always do what's right
To do it right the first time
Not back down from a fight
He showed us at an early age
How to serve our fellow man
Said "there ain't no higher calling
Than to stand for those that can't"
Though I never wore that uniform
There's somethin' about that green
Can't be called a leatherneck
But I know what that means
Things he learned from the Corps
He passed 'em down to me
Semper Fi, do or die
My old man was always a Marine
And Semper Fidelis became his way of life
Always faithful to God, his country,
And his wife
Though I never wore that uniform
There's somethin' about that green
Can't be called a leatherneck
But I know what that means
Lessons learned from the Corps
He passed 'em down to me
Semper Fi, do or die
My old man
Yeah
Semper Fi, do or die
My old man
Semper Fi, do or die
My old man was always a Marine
We cried like kids the day he died
And they said that he was gone
The piper at his funeral
Played his favorite song
2. Splitsville
For better or worse
It just got worse
And it's the same song
Different verse
So I find myself in town again
Paying the tab for all my sins
How I got here is all too clear
So I think I'll have another beer
And drink 'til I get my fill
That sign at the end of the road
Says Welcome to Splitsville
A journey of a thousand miles
Begins with just one step
The path I took that brought me here
Is now littered with regret
I know where it all went wrong
Seems my weakness for another is strong
Too many times I went to that well
And now I'm alone
Alone in Splitsville
It's an easy place to get to
But it's not on any map
If you don't change your way of thinkin'
You can get here just like that
Once you get to that point
Where the damage is all but done
You're on your way to Splitsville, uh huh
Population One
Population One
The road can be so short
From Love to Litigation
And if you've ever been to Splitsville son
You know it's no vacation
You see in Splitsville the tears never end
So now I sit alone with my friends
And drink 'til I get my fill
Of being the fool..the fool of Splitsville
It's an easy place to get to
But it's not on any map
If you don't change your way of thinkin'
You can get here just like that
Once you get past that point
Where the damage has all been done
You'll find yourself in Splitsville, baby
Population One
Population One
For better or worse
It just got worse
7. I Won't Stay All Night
Baby, I been thinking about us
And I know I've broken your trust
But if I'd ever thought that our love would die
I would've have stayed here by your side
And I know as of late
Things ain't been going so great
And darling outside it's cold
Let me stay
Don't make me go
I won't stay all night
But let me stay here a little while
I won't stay all night
But let me stay a little while
We could sing
We could dance
Baby just one more chance
Oh just let me stay here a little while
I can see that livin' apart
Ain't been the best from the start
You call out my name
But it don't feel the same
As it did when I held your heart
I want it
Like it was before this
To start each new day with a kiss
I want to wake up to your smile
And your sleepy eyes
Girl there's so much about you I miss
I won't stay all night
But let me stay here a little while
I won't stay all night
But let me stay here a little while
We could sing
We could dance
Baby just one more chance
Oh just let me stay here a little while
We can make sweet love like we do
Then say good morning
When our night is through
I won't stay all night
But let me stay here just a little while
I won't stay all night
But let me stay here just a little while
We could sing
We could dance
Maybe save this romance
Oh just let me stay here a little while
We could sing
We can dance
Baby one more last chance
Oh just let me stay here a little while
Please let me stay just a little while
Please let me stay just a little while
